How It Works

Three stages. One install.

Soften every drop. Purify what you drink. Put the good minerals back. Engineered as one system, installed in a single visit.

1

Stage 1 · Whole-Home Softening

Lucid Softener Pro

Treats every drop of water in your home. Ion-exchange resin swaps hard minerals (calcium & magnesium) for sodium, eliminating scale buildup in your pipes, water heater, and appliances. Regenerates automatically — you just add salt once a month.

Key Specs

  • Digital metered valve
  • 48,000-grain capacity
  • Demand-initiated regeneration (California compliant)
2

Stage 2 · Under-Sink Purification

Lucid RO 600 (Reverse Osmosis)

A reverse osmosis system installed under your kitchen sink. Pushes water through a semi-permeable membrane at 600 gallons/day, removing up to 99% of dissolved solids, lead, chlorine, fluoride, and microplastics. Produces pure drinking water on demand — no more bottled water.

Key Specs

  • 600 GPD capacity
  • Tankless design
  • 7-stage filtration
  • NSF/ANSI 58 certified

Stage 3 · Alkaline Remineralization

Lucid Mineral+

After RO strips everything out, this filter adds back beneficial minerals — calcium, magnesium, and potassium — and raises pH to a natural alkaline level (8.5–9.5). The result is clean water that actually tastes good.

Key Specs

  • Inline alkaline filter
  • Adds calcium, magnesium, potassium
  • Raises pH to 8.5–9.5

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered up front.

Do I need a consultation?
No. Our system is sized for typical South Bay homes (1–4 bathrooms) and the price is the same regardless of layout. If your home is unusual we'll catch it on the pre-install checklist and let you know before charging anything.
What brand of equipment do you install?
A digital metered water softener, an NSF-certified reverse osmosis system, and an alkaline remineralization filter.
Who actually does the install?
A California-licensed plumber we work with directly. They're insured and experienced with residential water treatment systems.
How long does the install take?
2 to 3 hours for both systems. Water is shut off for about 30 minutes of that.
Is this legal in California?
Yes. All Lucid systems use demand-initiated regeneration (DIR) and meet California Water Code Section 13148 requirements. Our equipment is NSF/ANSI certified and installed by licensed plumbers. Unlike timer-based softeners, DIR systems only regenerate when needed — which is both legal and more efficient.
What about maintenance?
Add a bag of salt to the softener every 6–8 weeks (we'll show you how during install). RO and mineral filters get swapped about once a year.
Why is your price lower than the other guys?
No commissioned sales reps. No 2-hour in-home pitches. No financing kickbacks built into the markup. The traditional water industry spends 30–40% of every install on customer acquisition; we spend that on better equipment and lower prices.
Can I just talk to someone first?
Of course. Hit "Talk to us first" anywhere on this page and we'll text or call within an hour during business hours. No script, no pitch — just answers.
